Happiness Falls Paperback Release with Author Angie Kim HLS ’93

Tuesday May 7 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm EDT

$40.00 – $61.00

The Harvard Club of Washington DC, in partnership with the Harvard Law School Alumni Association-DC, Harvard Asian American Alumni Alliance-DC, WWCDA, and APABA-DC, is delighted to announce that we will be hosting an event celebrating the launch of the paperback edition of the latest bestseller from Angie Kim HLS ’93, Happiness Falls.

A critically acclaimed and bestselling book of 2023, Happiness Falls is both a mystery and a family drama. Centering around Mia, the irreverent, hyper-analytical twenty-year-old daughter of a biracial Korean American family in Virginia, Happiness Falls explores what happens when her father and younger brother Eugene don’t return from a walk in a nearby park. By the time Mia’s brother runs through the front door bloody and alone, it becomes clear that the father in this tight-knit family is missing and the only witness is Eugene, who has the rare genetic condition Angelman syndrome and cannot speak. What follows is both a ticking-clock investigation into the whereabouts of a father and an emotionally rich portrait of a family whose most personal secrets just may be at the heart of his disappearance.

Angie will be joining us to discuss the novel, her work as an author, and how she transitioned from law to writing. Hors d’oeuvres and drinks will be served.

You can buy a standalone ticket to the event, or bundle a copy of the paperback (which Angie will sign!) in advance for a discount!
