We Need Your Help
Donate to the Harvard Community in the DC/Maryland/Virginia area
As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, the Harvard Club of Washington, DC receives no financial assistance from Harvard University and is dependent on donations, membership dues, and event revenue to fund our charitable works and operations. We hope that you will consider making a gift to one or more of the following funds:
Unrestricted
Your unrestricted donation will support the Harvard Club of Washington, DC’s many programs and activities, such as funding our Summer Community Service Fellowships for current students. Each year, we participate in Harvard’s fellowship program for undergraduates working on public service projects in the DC/MD/VA area. In addition, your unrestricted donation will also sustain our Schools Committee activities, allowing us to interview the numerous outstanding high school students in the DC/MD/VA area and to welcome admitted students into our Harvard Community.

Harvard Prize Book Program
The Harvard Prize Book Program is an important way for local alumni to recognize students in our community. In the greater DC area, Harvard Prize Books are presented annually in more than 60 high schools to an outstanding student in the junior class who combines excellence in scholarship and high character with achievement in other fields. The selected student typically receives the award at the school’s graduation exercise or other awards program.
The Harvard Club of Washington, DC handles all the details, including selecting and purchasing the book, and contacting the school to arrange for the awarding of the prize. For some schools, the alumnus/alumna who donated the book is invited to present the award in a ceremony at the school. The Harvard Club may also host a reception for the recipients.
Sponsorship is $25 per book. Should you wish to request that the sponsorship go to a specific high school, please contact Betsy Wanger at bwanger@post.harvard.edu.
Scholarship Fund
Contributions to the HCW’s Scholarship Fund augment the scholarship monies available to Harvard undergraduates from the DC/MD/VA area. The Harvard College Griffin Financial Aid Office administers the Scholarship Fund.
